Our team building workshops are now offered virtually!
As staff are adapting to the ‘new normal’ of working from home, finding opportunities for coming together outside of work is increasingly difficult. We are all craving connection and diversion and have to look for it in new ways. The process of art-making is an engaging way to both connect with others while also practicing self-reflection and mindfulness.
Freehand’s corporate team building programs are the ideal way to promote creativity and inject energy into your team. Our collaborative and individual projects encourage communication, enhance creative problem solving, and facilitate confidence and self-expression. Your team will learn to think outside the box and develop innovative ideas all while reducing stress and cultivating personal connections with their colleagues.
Who: A staff team in any industry who are looking for a fun way to shake things up!
What: A minimum one hour, online art workshop that includes a live session with an experienced instructor. Participants can create individual art pieces or a team can create a large collaborative piece to be assembled by our staff (see example photos below).
Where: Our preferred platform is Zoom but we can work with your established application.
When: Bookings are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 7:00 pm. Bookings need to be scheduled a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to ensure availability of materials.
How: We can develop a workshop as a part of your team’s existing online conference, or as a stand-alone event. Programs length can be adapted to meet your schedule but, generally, one to two hours is required for complete art project.
We create a materials kit for each for each participant to use at home, so there’s no running around to be done on your end.

Example Project: Abstract Mosaic
In this workshop, participants each paint one quarter of a circle on a small canvas. The circles are then mounted together on one large panel, forming a colourful, collaborative mosaic.

in-studio Projects
Our bright, fully equipped studios offer a relaxing and supportive environment. Participants will enjoy an inspiring art session no matter their skill level or artistic background, thanks to simple, step-by-step instructions and guidance. Our qualified instructors will be there every step of the way to ensure that your event culminates in the production of a work (or works) of art that act as a powerful reminder of your team working together.
Have a specific theme or project in mind? Just let us know! We would love to come up with a custom project for your team. Below are some suggested projects that we’ve found to be super successful in the past:
Printmaking – Collaborative or Individual
Using simple, step-by-step techniques, participants will create high quality, original prints. By the end of the session, each person will have produced multiple prints – take them home to enjoy, or use one print from each person to create a large-scale mosaic for the office!
Acrylic Scene Painting– Individual
Anyone can create a successful painting with our fool proof techniques. In advance of your session, you will choose the kind of landscape or scene you’d like your team to create and we will transfer these to a canvas so that no drawing is required. Participants will learn to mix colours and each person will go home with something they are proud of!
Acrylic Poured Painting– Individual
Let your team’s creativity flow with this highly engaging process. We will take participants step-by-step through the process of creating a colour palette that evokes meaning to them. Once the colours are chosen and mixed each person will pour their heart out on to a canvas and watch the magic happen. We will varnish the pieces to create a glossy finish once they are dry.
Puzzle Picture - Collaborative
In this session, participants will each be given a different, seemingly nondescript design, which they will paint onto a larger surface. At the end of the session, each work will be put together to reveal a complete, abstract design; a reminder of the importance individual contributions have to the success of a team.
